6:30 PM - 9:00 PM. Do you find yourself in your head a lot? Having difficulty being present in scenes? This workshop is for you! Jake Keefe has been studying meditation, zen, and improv for over a decade, and this workshop will use unique exercises he specifically created to help you find a place of calm and presence to begin your improv scenes. You will walk away with tools to get out of your head and calmly initiate scenes from a place of grounded reality.
Instructor Bio:
Jake Keefe hails from a tiny little town in New Hampshire where he spent his youth among the trees and the fresh air. He’s traveled America studying improv and teaching comedy everywhere from Hawaii to New York. He’s currently the head of improv at American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and teaches improv at Atlantic Acting School and NYU Jake can be seen on the hit show Elsbeth on CBS, was part of the original off-Broadway cast of “Puffs,” and plays Chris Kennedy in the hit show American Love Story. He’s been doing improv and sketch comedy for over twenty years including performing at The Pit, Second City and UCB. He also wants you to know that he loves dogs and Ben and Jerry’s Chubby Hubby ice cream.
